PRIDE OF LIONS are the brilliant successor of SURVIVOR featuring song-writer, singer and multi-instrumentalist JIM PETERIK and his partner in crime, singer extraordinaire Toby Hitchcock, with his incredible, powerful voice. \u201cLion Heart\u201d is their sixth studio album in total and another great one in the band\u2019s now 17 years spinning career.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As usual, PETERIK\u2019s song-writing is pure world-class, i.e. phenomenal melodies and catchy hooks rule the game here. Through the years, the group has released many contemporary classics such as \u201cIt\u2019s Criminal\u201d, \u201cImmortal\u201d, \u201cGone\u201d, \u201cSilent Music\u201d and \u201cSound Of Home\u201d. After a couple of listens, it becomes clear that \u201cLion Heart\u201d is extremely close to the class of the astonishing self-titled \u201cPride Of Lions\u201d album which got released way back in 2003. Highlights on this new effort include the title track, the more uptempo songs \u201cFlagship\u201d and \u201cGood Thing Gone\u201d, the mega-ballad \u201cUnfinished Heart\u201d and the rocky \u201cYou\u2019re Not A Prisoner\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Remembering the band\u2019s outstanding performance at 2005\u2019s United Forces Of Rock festival in Ludwigsburg and meeting the man, Mr. Peterik himself, some festival appearances after the end of the Covid pandemic really would be something cool to look out for. Spiced up with some SURVIVOR classics such as \u201cEye of The Tiger\u201d, \u201cBurning Heart\u201d and \u201cI Can Hold Back\u201d, PRIDE OF LIONS live set would be killer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
If you\u2019ll only buy one Melodic Rock album this year and if you like SURVIVOR, then \u201cLion Heart\u201d should be on top of your list!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
