The creative output of Swedish Michael Erlandsson is unbelievably rich. No matter whether with LAST AUTUMN\u2019S DREAM currently being on a hiatus, with solo records or more recently with AUTUMN\u2019S CHILD, he absolutely delivers. The second album again offers melodic rock with bits and pieces of pop, lots of pathos and emotional ballads full of drama. \u201cA Tear From The Sky\u201c and \u201cOnly Love Can Save The World\u201c are big time songs as well as the uptempo track \u201cAquarius Sky\u201c or the amazing ballad \u201cDon\u2019t Ever Leave Me\u201c, goosebumps guaranteed. Some of the the tunes on \u201cAngel\u2019s Gate\u201c are a little bit reminiscent of pop-rock-pomp like SUPERTRAMP, ELO or many other iconic seventies acts. Also the production is reminiscent of this era rather than contemporary AOR or melodic rock. We don\u2019t have to mention the unique and slightly fragile voice of Mikael Erlandsson here, I guess. The mighty Robban B\u00e4ck (ex SABATON, ex ECLIPSE, W.E.T.) on drums, like on the debut, is a real surprise as he usually plays harder stuff but he actually does a great job. \u201cAngel\u2019s Gate\u201c is a really good record although not quite as good in terms of songwriting as most releases of the predecessor band LAST AUTUMN\u2019S DREAM. But that\u2019s nothing but complaining on a pretty high level, though\u2026 <\/p>\n\n\n\n
