First ever solo effort by PRETY MAIDS frontman RONNIE ATKINS (NORDIC UNION, AVANTASIA) is nothing but a real killer. The charismatic Danish singer for the most part leaves the path of his mainband and with massive support of bandmate Chris Laney (keys) turns to more melodic and less heavy material. Incredibly hook-driven, very personal and simply intense, this will be the ultimate RONNIE ATKINS album highlighting his unique voice and personality. Hopefully, \u201cOne Shot\u201c is not going to be the definite legacy of the congenial frontman who is struggling with serious health issues for some time. The uplifting opener \u201cReal\u201c, though, is surprisingly positive and slightly popish but in the course of the record and with indisputable highlights like \u201cScorpio\u201c, \u201cPicture Yourself\u201c, \u201cOne By One\u201c or \u201cWhen Dreams Are Not Enough\u201c the flavor of the material is getting both mature and serious, perfectly illustrated in the line \u201ctomorrow is too late\u201c in the song \u201cOne Shot\u201c. An album to be loved by melodic rock fans and PRETTY MAIDS supporters alike.
