Fact\ncheck: REVOLUTION SAINTS were never a band, but have always been a project from\ntheir very beginnings. A project that was assembled by the record company\nFrontiers, bringing in outside writers to recreate the original and classic\nJourney AOR sound of the 80s. The saints themselves never concealed the fact\nthat they’d rather like to write their own songs than just being performers and\nvicarious agents of Italian songwriter Alessandro DelVeccio. And, who can blame\ntop musicians like Doug Aldrich, Jack Blades and Deen Castronovo \u2013 each of them\nwith a ton of original hits under their belt \u2013 for thinking out loud? Then\nagain, DelVeccio delivers as requested \u2013 there has not been a single Journey\nalbum since the mighty fine 1998 effort \u201eTrial By Fire\u201c (the last with singer\nSteve Perry) sounding as good as any of\nthe Revolution Saints records. Add to that, Deen Castronovo’s silky pipes bear\nan uncanny resemblance to the man himself, Steve Perry. As long as there won’t\nbe any new sign of life from the originals, putting all criticism aside, we can\nabsolutely live with the copycats. On \u201eRise\u201c, however, you won’t find any weak\ntune. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
