The name of the group already says it all: ALLEN\/ OLZON – this a project of SYMPHONY X singer Russel Allen and Anette Olzon (ex NIGHTWISH, ALYSON AVENUE). Personally, I do not have any problems with projects like this as long as the music is top class – and this is an album to really enjoy! Musically, the sound is sailing in the shores of Melodic Progressive Metal with some Symphonic and Hard Rock elements embedded. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s certainly closer to ALLEN’s work then to OLZON’s current and previous bands which makes this release even more interesting. This collaboration also sees the return of the mega talented Swedish writer Magnus Karlsson (PRIMAL FEAR, MAGNUS KARLLSON’S FREE FALL) as song-writer partner for ALLEN and as producer. If you you like any of the aforementioned bands, this one could be a hot contender for your personal “album of the year”. Highlights include the very melodic Hard Rock track “No Sign Of Life”, the a bit NIGHTWISH reminiscent “Worlds Apart” and “My Enemy”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
