After having released their second full length album by the name of “Scores Of War“ one year ago, Greek Symphonic Metal outfit ORION’S REIGN put out an EP with some different versions of a couple of songs (e.g. “Freedom Is Not Negotiable“ or “The Gravewalker“), focusing on the symphonic side of the band. Guest vocalists like Time “Ripper“ Owens (ex JUDAS PRIEST, ex ICED EARTH) and Mark Boals (YNGWIE MALMSTEEN) do a great job and add a different flavor. The orchestrations are mostly keyboards but the result nevertheless is quite good. An interesting cover version of “Elan“ by NIGHTWISH completes the picture. Fans of the genre – and RHAPSODY OF FIRE in particular – will be pleased but have to realize that this EP will be only available digitally.
