“Whoosh!” is nothing but another solid addition to DEEP PURPLE’s massive history which is now spinning 53 years (!) and 21 studio albums in total. The band continues the paths already taken with 2017’s “InFinite” release, and while listening to “Whoosh!” it becomes obvious that a breakup of this group still would be a big loss for the scene. It’s routined Hard Rock with the usual trademarks the band these days stands for: a versatile guitar performance (Steve Morse) paired with tasty hammond sounds (Don Airy) and the relaxed drumming by Ian Paice round up the picture. The songs seem to be tailor made for Ian Gillan’s voice, too. Highlights include the single “Throw My Bones” (see video below), the mega catchy “Nothing At All” and the piano-driven Rock N Roller “What the What”. Cool stuff!
