Thundermother – Heat Wave

THUNDERMOTHER return with their fourth album in total – probably their best up to today. Regarded as the female version of AC/DC by many, “Heat Wave” offers a bit more than just this. The AC/DC influences are still obvious but the outfit around guitar goddess Filippa Nässil and singer Guernica Mancini have expanded their sound. The mega ballad “Sleep” for sure is one of the best songs of this type within their genre in 2020, and “Driving In Style” adds a bit of a MOTÖRHEAD meets GIRLSCHOOL feel.
Over-all the AC/DC influences are – not any different than with AIRBOURNE – still standing in the foreground though. “Heat Wave” entered the top 10 official album charts here in Germany in the week after its release – so, raise your glass of beer, party with the girls and play it loud! Not innovative but very well done, enjoyable Rock N’ Roll!
