Another great rerelease from the good old days comes your way. Scottish band GLASGOW from, well, Glasgow, with unfortunately their only full release. “Zero Four One“, being the postal code at the time, is a great melodic rock record which was sometimes mistakenly considered as NWOBHM. For whatever reason the band didn’t make it back in the day although the songs on their 1987 debut are excellent. Essential stuff for lovers of the likes of FM, FORTUNE or even ICON. It’s mostly keyboard-driven AOR and hard rock with great vocals (Mick Boyle) and lots of fantastic hooks and a rocking groove. Comes with a bonus cut from the original sessions, a song previously only available on a vinyl single back in the day. The mighty Don Airey, today in DEEP PURPLE, guests on keyboards. One of the many highlights on “Zero Four One“ is the energetic CHRIS THOMPSON cover “Secrets In The Dark“. The album is limited to 500 copies – so you better be quick! Founding member ans mastermind Archie Dickens (g) is not fully ruling out the idea to work on new material and is actually eager to bring a refurbished version of the band on the road when- and wherever possible….Plenty of great news, isn’t it?
