With CORELEONI’s “II” Swiss guitarist Leo Leoni continues to follow the path of this release’s predecessor. “II” again offers a very good selection of early GOTTHARD classics; spiced up with some new material. It’s pure fun to listen to some of the old material which – in my opinion – was created in the band’s heydays. “I’m A Travelling Man”, “Mountain Mama”, “Angel”, “Open Fire” and “Standing In The Light” are all classic tracks. Backed-up with Ronnie Romero (RAINBOW, LORD OF BLACK) as perfect vocalist and original powerhouse and GOTTHARD drummer Hena Habegger, these songs definitely stood the test of time and still are relevant today. The two new titles “Queen Of Hearts” and “Don’t Get Me Wrong” follow the same sound – maybe the reason why some people would wish to get more new material from CORELEONI. Especially “Queen Of Hearts” is equal to the big hits and showcases the potential of this group. This could become an even bigger band, if they just would offer some more new material as well. Nevertheless recommended!
